View this nonpartisan, interactive, lively and multi-cultural panel discussion; understanding & talking reparations. Uplifting repairing slavery’s effects, educating about the people who overcame slavery and their generations that followed.

Telling the Reparations’ story through an inclusive lens, explicating how repairing can be achieved through many different avenues including historic preservation. Establishing a new role for reparations in society.

Fred Hearns (Humanities Scholar & panelist) curator of Black history at Tampa Bay History Center.
Hearns received his B.A. degree in English journalism from the University of South, a M.A. degree from Springfield College Tampa Bay and a M.A. degree, in African American studies from the University of South
Florida. Retired, Former City of Tampa Community Relations Director.

Rev. Terrell Blair, Panelist, Pastor, St. Lawrence AMEC in Eatonville, FL. Studied at Asbury Theological Seminary:
FL Dunnam Campus Orlando and Genesis Biblical College and Graduate School.

Dr. Edward Gonzalez-Tennant, Panelist, received his PhD in Anthropology from the University of Florida for his research into the history of Rosewood, Florida. He has taught on archaeology and African American history in New Zealand, New Jersey, and Florida. He has also worked in the private sector for some of the nation’s largest cultural resources management firms. Lecturer, University of Central Florida, Principal Investigator with Digital Heritage Interactive, and composer of a comprehensive survey of Royal’s history as well as Royal’s NRHP nomination.

Brad Cornelius, Panelist, Experienced Vice President with a demonstrated history of working in the urban planning and civil engineering industry. Skilled in Land Development, ArcGIS, Sustainable Development,
Government, and Urban Planning. He has an undergraduate degree from Rollins College and graduate degree from University of Florida.

Robert ‘Bob” Kovacevich, Owner, Avatar Company.com. During Covid, Avatar is the first responders to nonprofit organizations. They are on the front lines and not in a cloistered classroom or Zoom session teaching cookie cutter resource development or strategic planning theory.
